It’s Hot Cocoa Time! | DIY

Well, it’s definitely hot cocoa weather here in Florida…at least for today! 🤣 This recipe is rich, creamy and super yummy (and, of course, we make ours gluten free with homemade marshmallows – recipe here!) If you have some, add a drop of your favorite Vitality Oil to your mug before you pour to help evenly disperse the flavor and make it even tastier!

Ingredients:

⅔ cup sugar

8 T unsweetened cocoa powder (Hershey’s is GF)

1 T cornstarch

3 ½ cups whole milk (we use lactose free)

½ cup heavy cream

½ tsp vanilla

1 drop per mug of your favorite Vitality Oil. We like Peppermint or Cinnamon Bark.

Instructions:

In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa, and cornstarch.

Add one tablespoon of milk at a time, until a paste forms. Then slowly pour in the remainder of the milk.

Bring to a light boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.

Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for about 30 seconds while stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and vanilla.

Serve with whipped cream (homemade is super easy) and/or marshmallows (not usually gluten free, but some are available at Trader Joe’s, Earth Fare or Whole Foods…when they have them.) GF homemade recipe here!

Ps…this is not my original recipe but one I found in an educational essential oils facebook group I’m part of…they do exist and you can join if you’re interested but we’ll have to be Facebook friends first. Just leave a comment below. 😊

Enjoy!
